Firefox Add-on - LinkChecker
This Firefox Add-on can be used on any webpage that has links embedded in the code, including files that are localised to your personal hard-drive. You can use it on internet archives’ old file holdings to check if the next level of links from that page are also in it. It can be used to check websites that are your responsibility to maintain for dead links. When you run across a page of links that you have an interest in following, it can tell you which are dead ends before you traverse to them. there are many other instances where this comes in handy.
A toolbar button can be added for easier access to LinkChecker. Just right click on your toolbar, choose “Customize” and look for the button with the underlined blue check.
